# Dotfiles: Subtractive Terminal & Muscle Memory

*Craft · Tools & Runtimes*

Over time, shell dotfiles often bloat: dozens of unused plugin packs, animated prompts, and noticeable latency whenever opening a new terminal tab.

My dotfiles practice radical subtraction: **new shell instances must reach prompt readiness in under 20ms**.

## Subtractive Directives

- **Lean Completions**: Leveraging native Zsh completions and minimal syntax highlighting without heavy framework wrappers.
- **Ergonomic Aliases**: High-frequency workflows (e.g. `git`, `jj`, `rsync`) condensed into 2-letter keystrokes oriented toward muscle memory.
- **Hermetic Portability**: Managed via plain symlinks, capable of bootstrapping on any POSIX system in one command.
